We are Swiss Technology Award 2019 finalists

The  Swiss Technology Award honours outstanding technology-based innovations and developments in the categories «Inventors», «Start-ups» and «Innovation Leaders». We are proud to have reached the final in the  category " Innovation Leaders ".

We are delighted to be among the 9 best of the year and will be pitching to win the  Swiss Technology Award on 21 November 2019 at the Swiss Innovation Forum in Basel in front of 1,000 decision-makers from business, politics, science and media: https://www.swiss-innovation.com/en/winners-finalists/

Modular production machine for micro-technical parts
Designed for palletizing and small component assembly operations, the Flexible microparts pick & placer machine manipulates parts of different materials and simple to complex geometries. The equipment offers great flexibility. It can be supplemented with various standard peripherals such as flexible feeding units, vision systems, servo presses, and many others, in order to easily adapt to current and future market demands.

Parts cleaning machine using atmospheric pressure plasma
The Plasma Cleaner equipment is a surface treatment machine for parts with varying geometries and materials. It uses atmospheric pressure plasma to clean and activate the surface. The treatment is applied by an anthropomorphic robot. The atmospheric pressure plasma process removes contaminants from the treated surface, then makes it hydrophilic. Thanks to this process, parts are decontaminated, and adhesives, paints and inks easily spread across their surface. In addition, the machine boasts ergonomic semi-automatic loading to guarantee the operator’s safety and productivity.

Parts palletizing machine with a collaborative robot
The Collaborative Flexible feeder is a turnkey solution for quick, reliable and precise distribution of all types of components supplied in bulk. The bulk parts are separated, oriented, and positioned by the collaborative robot in the customer's container of choice (tray, pallet, tube, etc.). Thanks to a smart human detection system, the collaborative robot moves in complete safety without any physical barriers. The machine varies the speed of the robot until it stops, if needed, to ensure the safety of operators. The CPAutomation control software renders, programming and configuration completely intuitive.

On April 1, 2018, Marcel Dubey took over the management of CPAutomation in Villaz-St-Pierre. He succeeds Christophe Fragnière, founder and director of the Swiss based company since 1999.

After 19 years at the head of the company, Christophe Fragnière saw in Marcel Dubey the best successor to take over this responsibility.

CPAutomation has developed a semi-automatic welding machine for rotating parts which can apply weld beads of less than 300 microns. Its application flexibility means it can be used to weld parts of widely varying shapes and sizes. Tool changes are easy and take just a few seconds. To guarantee maximum productivity, the operator loads the machine in concurrent operation time. Mechanical and electronic poka-yoke systems have been implemented to ensure optimal quality and machine availability. Traceability is ensured by an ergonomic bar code reader built into the machine.
